Michael Avenatti, adult-film actress Stormy Daniels’s former attorney, will appear in Manhattan court in April to face charges that he swindled Daniels out of $300,000, The Washington Post reports.

U.S. District Judge Deborah Batts on Tuesday set an April 21 trial date.

Avenatti has denied the accusation that he defrauded his star client out of $300,000 owed to her for a book deal.

Avenatti has denied these charges too.

Dean Steward, Avenatti’s lawyer, informed Batts that he’s requesting dismissal of the case and filing a “vindictive prosecution” motion.

Outside the courtroom, Avenatti lashed out at President Trump, dubbing him the “biggest criminal in America.”
