House Democrats to vote on resolution condemning Trump over Ukraine

House Democrats are planning to vote Wednesday on a nonbinding resolution condemning President Trump’s dealings with Ukraine, a senior Democratic source said, even as rank-and-file members are ramping up calls for impeaching the president over the blossoming scandal.

{mosads}It’s unclear what the resolution will entail, as the White House has refused to release the details of a government whistleblower report surrounding Trump’s conversation last month with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky — allegations that launched the episode to the forefront of both the Democrats’ investigative efforts and the media’s attention.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will huddle Tuesday afternoon with the Democratic chairmen of six committees investigating Trump and his administration. She’ll then meet with her full Democratic caucus behind closed doors to discuss how her party should respond to the whistleblower story.

Pelosi will make a statement on her position on impeachment at 5 p.m., her spokesman said.
