Milwaukee issues health alert on vaping
Milwaukee is urging residents to stop vaping after multiple teenagers have been reportedly hospitalized for lung damage related to e-cigarettes.
The city issued a health alert regarding vaping on Wednesday, USA Today reports.
“We continue to learn more about the health effects associated with e-cigarettes,” Milwaukee Health Commissioner Jeanette Kowalik said in the reported statement.{mosads}
“As the public health authority for the city, the MHD is committed to protecting the public from the dangers of secondhand exposure.”
State officials said there are 16 confirmed cases of lung disease linked to e-cigarettes in Wisconsin, and 15 other cases are under investigation, the newspaper reports.
Additionally, federal officials reportedly say there are about 200 potential of lung disease linked to the products reported by 22 states.
