Trump retweets baby elephant video
President Trump retweeted a video of a baby elephant getting stuck in a patch of mud on Thursday.
Trump retweeted the video from a Twitter user named Tom with the handle @summervilleguy. The user shared the video and tagged former Fox News host Greta Van Susteren.

{mosads}The seemingly random retweet stood out on a busy morning on Twitter for the president, who is set to host a rally in New Hampshire on Thursday night.
Other than the elephant tweet, Trump’s messages were more typical in focusing on race and divisive political topics. He also mostly retweeted messages from conservative allies.
The president had retweeted former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly saying that “branding the President a white supremacy adherent” is a “cheap piece of political propaganda.”
After that and just before the elephant video, Trump had retweeted Fox News host Laura Ingraham’s tweet saying there was no evidence of an epidemic of mass shootings.
A little more than a week ago, more than 30 people were killed in two mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio.
Immediately after the elephant tweet, Trump retweeted Diamond and Silk, the conservative African American women and YouTube personalities, calling them “two great and loyal friends.”
Trump also retweeted an article from Fox News host Sean Hannity with comments from the president’s attorney Rudy Giuliani and then tweeted tour dates for Diamond and Silk.
RUDY: “I’ve never had a client that’s been cleared three times. Once is usually enough, twice is ridiculous, three times?! Get over it.” https://t.co/WsFP1l2sqx pic.twitter.com/xIR78v0TeV

He also retweeted former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski’s tweet sharing an article teasing a potential Senate run, and shared a tweet from January of 2017 alleging that Democratic lawmakers skipped the inauguration of President Lincoln because “he had this radical idea of ending slavery.”
Lewandowski is expected to be in New Hampshire with Trump and may soon announce a Republican bid for the Senate.
Trump later in the morning tweeted about the mass shootings the country has faced recently. He called for law enforcement to get “much tougher on street crime” after a gunman in Philadelphia shot and wounded six local police officers.
“The Philadelphia shooter should never have been allowed to be on the streets. He had a long and very dangerous criminal record. Looked like he was having a good time after his capture, and after wounding so many police. Long sentence — must get much tougher on street crime!” he said.
