Grassley to Palin: Raise cash for me

Sarah Palin’s resignation has Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) seeing green.

When asked if he’d like Palin to come campaign for him, Grassley said only if she could raise some money.

“The answer is, if she can raise a lot of money for me, yes,” Grassley told reporters Tuesday. He added: “And I would only ask her to come for a major fund-raiser, but I would presume that the party might be ahead of me on making that request.”

Grassley, whose up for re-election in 2010, said he remembers Palin having a big Iowa following during the 2008 campaign.

“[A]t three events I spent with her in Iowa during the last campaign, she had bigger turnouts than McCain had,” Grassley said.

Hm, lots of support in Iowa. That could come in handy sometime…
