Trump says he will visit DMZ
President Trump announced Saturday that he will go to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) between North and South Korea.
“Today I will visit with, and speak to, our Troops – and also go the the DMZ (long planned),” he tweeted.
I am in South Korea now. President Moon and I have “toasted” our new Trade Deal, a far better one for us than that which it replaced. Today I will visit with, and speak to, our Troops – and also go the the DMZ (long planned). My meeting with President Moon went very well!

{mosads}Trump previously indicated that he might meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un at the DMZ. His tweet did not indicate whether Kim would be there.
The Hill has reached out to the White House for further comment.
The president, who attended the Group of 20 summit in Osaka, Japan, on Saturday, had previously tweeted, “If Chairman Kim of North Korea sees this, I would meet him at the Border/DMZ just to shake his hand and say Hello(?)!”
“I’m gonna be there for a day. I understand that’s one of the places I’ll be visiting,” he also told The Hill in an exclusive interview Monday.
Asked whether he would meet the North Korean leader there if Kim offered to do so, Trump responded, “I might, yeah.”
The Associated Press reported Saturday, citing the state Korean Central News Agency, that North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui said a meeting could be “another meaningful occasion in further deepening the personal relations between the two leaders and advancing the bilateral relations.”
