TRADE. The Bradford Group, a leader in the direct-to-consumer marketing and product development industries, hired The Vogel Group to work on issues regarding the Office of the United States Trade Representative’s policies on tariffs. Alex Vogel, former chief counsel to ex-Sen. Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.); Brian Johnson, former head of tax at the American Petroleum Institute; and Samir Kapadia, former executive assistant at the Heritage Foundation, will work on the account.

INFRASTRUCTURE. The Vogel Group also registered with the Portland Cement Association to work on issues relating to infrastructure and the cement industry. Vogel, Johnson and Kapadia will also work on that account. 

ENERGY. The Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia hired Cypress Advocacy to work on the Department of Energy loan program. Brant Imperatore, former senior counsel to the House Financial Services Committee, will work on the account.

DEFENSE. Cubic Defense Applications Inc. hired the McKeon Group to work on issues involving combat training centers. Former Rep. Buck McKeon (R-Calif.), onetime chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, and Howard McKeon, former vice president of SprintNextel, will work on the account.

HOUSING. Texas-based company Target Hospitality, which provides turnkey accommodations and hospitality solutions, hired Carmen Group Incorporated to work on housing issues. David Carmen, the firm’s founder, will work on the account.

FINANCIAL SERVICES. Colorado-based private investor Greg Anderson hired JM Burkman & Associates to work on U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission issues and lobby the House Financial Services and Senate Banking Committees. Jack Burkman, the firm’s president, will work on the account.
