Trump congratulates winning Indianapolis 500 team
President Trump congratulated Roger Penske Sunday for his team’s victory in the Indianapolis 500.
Trump, tweeting from Japan amid a visit with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe over Memorial Day weekend, also gave a shout-out to winning driver Simon Pagenaud, who races for Penske’s iconic team.
{mosads}“Congratulations to the Great (and my friend) Roger Penske on winning his 18th (UNBELIEVABLE!) Indianapolis 500,” Trump wrote. “I am in Japan, very early in the morning, but I got to watch Simon drive one of the greatest races in the history of the sport.”
He added that he will “see them both, & TEAM, at the WH!”

Pagenaud defeated Alexander Rossi in a thrilling finish Sunday.
It was Pagenaud’s first Indianapolis 500 victory and came as Penske celebrates the 50th anniversary of his first appearance at the historic track.
