Joy Reid on her hot mic Biden criticism: ‘I don’t believe in war’

MSNBC host Joy Reid on Monday addressed an on-air slip-up last week in which she was heard seemingly criticizing President Biden’s posture on foreign policy.

During a segment on her nightly show, Reid was heard saying “starting another f‑‑‑in’ war” as she played clips from a speech Biden gave in South Carolina.

The host later apologized for the remark, telling her audience at the end of that evening’s broadcast, “I was chatting during a clip that was playing, and you know, we try to keep this show very PG-13, so I just want to apologize to anyone who was listening to my ‘behind-the-scenes’ chatter.”

Asked about the moment during an appearance on ABC’s “The View,” Joy on Monday described herself as an anti-war person.

“I’m going to hit that with a cute ‘no comment.’ No, but … I don’t believe in war, whether it is the governor of Texas literally trying to start another war over an issue his party could solve tomorrow … ” Reid said.

“I’m an anti-war person. I think for most Americans, we’re war-weary. I think we’re all weary of conflict, and we would like to see us progress economically, socially, try and bring the country back from the brink of racial hatred. Let’s not do war at all.”

The U.S. over the weekend carried out a series of airstrikes across the Middle East in response to a drone strike in Jordan that killed three American soldiers.
