Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) will be speaking at a campaign event in New Hampshire Sunday for former President Trump, just days before the state’s primary is set to begin.

Gaetz, a strong supporter of the former president, will appear at the rally in Keene, N.H., Trump’s campaign announced.

The former president, seen as the GOP front-runner in the race, easily won the Iowa caucuses Monday with a double-digit lead over his rivals. While former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley took the victory in one of the 99 counties, she came in third place behind Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Trump’s near-sweep in the Hawkeye State demonstrates his command over the Republican Party. Now, with just days left until the second voting contest of the year, the former president is attempting to hold the lead, as Haley continues to gain momentum in the state.

According to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ polling average, Trump is currently leads the state with 45.6 percent support. Haley, who has made significant strides in recent months, is in second place with 35 percent support, followed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) with 5.8 percent support.

Gaetz once said DeSantis would make a good candidate for the GOP in 2024, but only if Trump was out of the picture. In the spring, he also floated a ticket with the governor and former president teaming up, calling the prospect “terrific” at the time.

The Hill has reached out to the Florida lawmaker for comment.
