CNN will host two GOP debates in January
CNN will host a pair of Republican presidential primary debates in January, the network announced Thursday.
The first will be held in Des Moines, Iowa, on Jan. 10 and the second will be broadcast from Goffstown, N.H., on Jan. 21.
To qualify for the both events, candidates must receive at least 10 percent in three separate national or state polls and one of the three polls must be an approved CNN poll of likely primary voters in that state.
The network did not announce moderators for either event.
The fourth GOP debate, which was hosted by The Hill’s sister news organization NewsNation, was held Wednesday night between Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.
All four candidates trail well behind former President Trump, who leads in most national polls by double digits and has skipped the first four Republican primary debates.
