White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will hold a daily press briefing Thursday afternoon, joined by National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby.

A poll published Thursday shows an increase in Democratic support for President Biden’s handling of the war between Israel and Hamas, despite criticism from some on the party’s left flank, as The Hill reported. Biden has sought to strike a difficult balance in navigating the conflict in the Middle East in the wake of Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack on Israel that killed roughly 1,200 people. The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza has said the death toll in the territory has surpassed 17,100 amid Israeli retaliatory strikes.

Thursday’s briefing is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST.
