Fox News won’t air ‘Justice with Jeanine’ on Saturday after Pirro’s comments about Omar

Fox News is set to air a repeat episode of a documentary series in place of “Justice with Jeanine” as the host faces controversy over her comments about Muslims.

The network will air an episode of “Scandalous,” according to Variety. A spokesperson wouldn’t discuss future scheduling plans when contacted.

“We’re not commenting on internal scheduling matters,” a network spokesperson wrote in an email.

{mosads}During an episode last Saturday, Pirro questioned whether Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-Minn.) hijab was “indicative of her adherence to Sharia law, which in itself is antithetical to the United States Constitution.”

Her comments were condemned by Fox News leadership, which issued a statement saying Pirro had been reprimanded.

“We strongly condemn Jeanine Pirro’s comments about Rep. Ilhan Omar,” the network said in a statement days later. “They do not reflect those of the network and we have addressed the matter with her directly.”

Pirro previously sought to address the comments and invited Omar to appear on the program.

“I’ve seen a lot of comments about my opening statement from Saturday night’s show and I did not call Rep. Omar un-American. My intention was to ask a question and start a debate, but of course because one is Muslim does not mean you don’t support the Constitution. I invite Rep. Omar to come on my show any time to discuss all of the important issues facing America today,” Pirro said.

Omar responded to Fox News’s statement on Monday in a tweet thanking the network for addressing Pirro’s remarks.

“Thank you, @FoxNews. No one’s commitment to our constitution should be questioned because of their faith or country of birth,” she wrote.
