Chris Dodd makes a BOLD claim

Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.), who tweeted earlier today of his travels in Connecticut with Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Shaun Donovan, followed up Monday afternoon with what could prove to be a controversial claim.

Dodd tweeted:

Treating Shaun to some of the best pizza in the world. Picking up a pie from Pepe’s.

Politicians are known for their provincial pizza preferences, and, to be fair, Dodd and Donovan are in New Haven, Conn. today, which is home to its own style of pizza.

But the question remains: Will Dodd, who faces a tough reelection battle in 2010, lose the votes of New York City commuters, with their prized style of pie?

There was no immediate word whether Donovan, a former housing director in New York City, liked the New Haven slice.
