Vitter calls out colleagues via Twitter
Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) made no secret Tuesday that he was disappointed that an amendment he submitted yesterday was voted down.
Vitter called out Senate colleagues via Twitter:
I’m disappointed that the Senate defeated my amendment that would have allowed banks to repay $100 Billion back to the American taxpayer.
Vitter’s amendment, which was supported by fiscal conservative groups, would have permitted well-capitalized banks to pay back any money they’ve received under the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) as soon as they want.
