White House: Trump will undergo annual physical exam
The White House said Monday that President Trump will have his annual medical exam, but did not reveal when it will happen.
“The president will, as always, undergo a yearly physical exam,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said at a press briefing, her first in 41 days. “We’ll keep you posted on the date and time when that happens.”
Trump recently passed the one-year mark since his last exam, which took place on Jan. 12, 2018.
{mosads}Days later, then-White House chief doctor Navy Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson appeared at a news conference to deliver a glowing report on the president’s health.
Trump later nominated Jackson to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs, but he withdrew amid a cloud of controversy over his conduct at the White House.
Navy Cmdr. Sean Conley now serves as physician to the president.
Past presidents have routinely undergone physical exams and released the results to the public, although not always on an annual basis.
