Lobbying World: Former ambassador to join Squire Patton Boggs

Paul Jones, former ambassador to Poland and Malaysia, will join Squire Patton Boggs’s public policy practice as an international affairs advisor. Jones most recently led international government relations at RTX, formerly Raytheon Technologies, and brings three decades of experience in the State Department.

Rob Robilliard joined Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck (BHFS) as a senior policy advisor. Most recently the director of government affairs for the Crypto Council for Innovation, Robilliard was also previously a policy adviser for the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Capital Markets.

The Hispanic Lobbyists Association appointed BHFS policy analyst Osiris Morel to the association’s board of directors. Morel previously worked for the U.S.-Qatar Business Council.

Brian Young joined I Street Advocates as a vice president. Last week, Emmer Consulting and The Goodfriend Group announced they had relaunched as I Street Advocates. Young previously led the American Postal Workers Union’s political and legislative efforts, spearheading passage of the Postal Service Reform Act and securing funding for a new Postal Service electric vehicle fleet in the Inflation Reduction Act.

Invariant tapped Loren Dealy Mahler to join its strategic communications and public affairs team as a senior director. She was previously director for legislative affairs at the National Security Council during the Obama administration, director of communications for the Department of Defense and press secretary on the House Armed Services Committee.

Rebecca McPhail, president of the West Virginia Manufacturers Association, will join the American Chemistry Council (ACC) as vice president of state affairs and political mobilization. McPhail will succeed Rudy Underwood, who announced his retirement after more than three decades with the ACC effective Dec. 18.

Paul Coussan joined the National Park Foundation as vice president of government relations. He was most recently director of government relations at the American Battlefield Trust and was previously press secretary for former Rep. Charles Boustany (R-La.).

Samantha Bullock joined OnMessage Public Strategies as an executive vice president. Bullock was most recently communications director for House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) and previously worked for the National Republican Congressional Committee, the Trump White House and his 2020 campaign.
