Grassley stands by his tweets

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) on Tuesday didn’t move an inch from his tweets last weekeend that criticized President Obama over healthcare reform.

Grassley clearly took offense on Sunday to Obama calling for swift movement on the reform bills, tweeting that Obama has “got nerve” to make such a demand while he was traveling in Europe.

“I think that it was only wrong from the standpoint that while he was enjoying himself, all of us on the hill were working,” Grassley said on MSNBC Tuesday. “I think it was a cheap shot on his part.”

Last Sunday, Grassley tweeted:

Pres Obama you got nerve while u sightseeing in Paris to tell us”time to deliver” on health care. We still on skedul/even workinWKEND.

Pres Obama while u sightseeing in Paris u said ‘time to delivr on healthcare’ When you are a “hammer” u think evrything is NAIL I’m no NAIL

On Tuesday, Grassley said that he didn’t object to Obama taking a vacation but he didn’t like Obama’s suggestion that “Congress is dragging its heels on healthcare reform.”
