Rivera was voted into the hall of fame by a unanimous vote from the Baseball Writers Association of America, making him the first player to accomplish that feat.
Along with Rivera, former pitchers Roy Halladay and Mike Mussina, as well as former designated hitter Edgar Martinez, were also voted into the hall on Tuesday.
Rivera, who visited the White House in 2017, is a member of Trump’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition.
