Ayesha Curry invites Clemson Tigers to ‘real feast and celebration’ after Trump’s fast-food meal

Ayesha Curry, the wife of Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, invited Clemson University’s football team to her restaurant for a “real feast and celebration” after President Trump treated the players to fast food at the White House. 

“[International Smoke] will gladly feed the Clemson Tigers any day,” Ayesha Curry tweeted, referencing the restaurant she helped launch with Chef Michael Mina.

“A real feast and celebration. No 10 cent dipping sauces on silver platters.”

{mosads}Ayesha Curry, who is also a bestselling cookbook author, offered the invitation after a Twitter user joked that it was no “No wonder why” her husband said he didn’t want to attend the White House following the Warriors’ NBA championship in 2017. 

Stephen Curry said in September 2017 that he didn’t want to go because he didn’t “stand for what our president has said, and the things he hasn’t said at the right time.” 

Trump responded by saying that the Warriors’ invitation had been withdrawn. 

Trump hosted the Clemson Tigers at the White House earlier this week to celebrate their national championship victory. The team was treated to a wide variety of choices from fast food chains, including Wendy’s, Burger King, McDonald’s and Domino’s pizza. 

The White House said in a statement that Trump paid for the food himself because much of the residence staff is furloughed due to the partial government shutdown. 

The catering has prompted criticism from many celebrities and athletes, including rapper Quavo and former NFL star Michael Strahan. 

“I would like to invite the Clemson Tigers football team here for a great meal,” Strahan said on ABC. “Lobster, whatever you want, we’re gonna take care of you.”
