Trump to headline Women’s Leadership Summit

Former President Trump is set to headline the Concerned Women for America (CWA) Legislative Action Committee’s leadership summit Friday in Washington, his campaign announced Tuesday.

Trump, who is running for the White House in 2024, will cap off the multiday event as the keynote speaker at the Women’s Leadership Summit dinner.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), who is polling in second place behind the former president in the GOP presidential race, is also expected to be in attendance. Fellow 2024 hopefuls Vivek Ramaswamy and former Vice President Mike Pence have been invited to attend but are not yet confirmed, according to the CWA event site.

“Our leaders are excited to hear from President Trump and honored he has prioritized this gathering to lay out his vision for our country,” said Penny Nance, CWA CEO and president, in a release lauding Trump’s “commitment to pro-life and pro-family policies.”

Shortly after Trump’s scheduled speaking time of 7 p.m. Friday for the summit, he’ll also deliver remarks to the Family Research Council’s Pray, Vote, Stand Summit in Washington around 9 p.m.

DeSantis and Ramaswamy are also scheduled to speak at the Pray, Vote, Stand event’s evening program Friday, while Pence, campaigning against his ex-running mate, is scheduled to speak earlier in the afternoon.

The back-to-back events are scheduled shortly before the GOP candidates are expected to gather in Simi Valley, Calif., for the party’s second presidential primary debate on Sept. 27 — though it’s unclear whether Trump, who skipped the first debate last month, will take part in the second.
