Noem expected to endorse Trump at South Dakota rally: report

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) is expected to endorse former President Trump’s White House bid at a rally in her home state Friday, unidentified sources told The Associated Press.

Noem, who is set to introduce the former president at the Republican fundraiser in Rapid City, has been among those floated as a potential running mate for the GOP front-runner.

When asked Thursday whether she would consider a theoretical offer to run as Trump’s vice president, Noem said she “absolutely” would.

“I would in a heartbeat,” she told Newsmax. “Just because you respect the position and the person who asks you to do something, and then see if you really believe that you could make a difference.”

“Trump needs a strong partner if he’s going to take back the White House,” Noem added. “And he’s going to need somebody who knows what it’s like to run a business, to be an employee, earn a paycheck. But also having a wife, mom, and grandma isn’t bad either.”

The former president remains the clear front-runner in the race for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, holding double-digit leads over the rest of the crowded GOP field in the polls.
