MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace: ‘We may have misrepresented the ease with which Gillum is going to win’

MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace said the media “may have misrepresented the ease with which [Andrew] Gillum  is going to win,” shortly before the Florida Democrat conceded in the governor’s race.

Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) was declared the winner by shortly after 10:30 p.m. ET. and Gillum conceded to DeSantis not long after.

{mosads}”Florida hasn’t had a democratic governor in a long time,” said Wallace, a former communications director in former President George W. Bush’s administration. “And we may have misrepresented the ease with which Gillum is going to win. It’s a really hard state.”

Votes in the Sunshine State have traditionally been unpredictable, highlighted by the 2000 presidential election between Bush and former Vice President Al Gore that eventually had to be decided in the U.S. Supreme Court weeks after the election following an extended recount and court fight.
