Kavanaugh to address sexual misconduct allegations on Fox News Monday

Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump’s embattled Supreme Court nominee, will appear along with his wife on Fox News Channel’s “The Story with Martha MacCallum” on Monday night, according to the network.

During the interview, “Judge Kavanaugh will address the allegations of sexual misconduct he is facing, including the new accusation from his former Yale classmate Deborah Ramirez who came forward over the weekend,” reads the Fox News announcement.

“He will also address the upcoming hearing on Thursday in which one of his accusers, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, will testify in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and the effect these claims have had on his family.”

“Additionally, Judge Kavanaugh’s wife, Ashley Estes Kavanaugh, will speak publicly for the first time about the allegations that her husband is facing,” it adds.

This will be Kavanaugh’s first interview since the first allegations surfaced against him earlier this month.

{mosads}Earlier Monday, Kavanaugh vowed he will “not be intimidated into withdrawing” his Supreme Court nomination after Ramirez came forward over the weekend in a Ronan Farrow New Yorker magazine report with a sexual misconduct allegation against him dating back to college.

The new report adds to a previous allegation leveled against Kavanaugh by Ford about his behavior in high school.

Kavanaugh has staunchly denied the accusations, calling them a “grotesque and obvious character assassination” and “a coordinated effort” to drive him out on the nomination.

“They debase our public discourse. But they are also a threat to any man or woman who wishes to serve our country. Such grotesque and obvious character assassination—if allowed to succeed—will dissuade competent and good people of all political persuasions from service,” Kavanaugh said in a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.).

“I will not be intimidated into withdrawing from this process. The coordinated effort to destroy my good name will not drive me out. The vile threats of violence against my family will not drive me out. The last-minute character assassination will not succeed,” Kavanaugh added.

Kavanaugh and Ford are both scheduled to testify before the Judiciary Committee on Thursday.
