Julie Chen to leave talk show after husband’s resignation: report
Julie Chen, the talk show host and wife of former CBS Chairman and CEO Les Moonves, is expected to announce on Tuesday that she is leaving “The Talk” after nine seasons on the network, according to several reports Monday night.
Chen’s departure would come just days after Moonves was fired following sexual harassment allegations from multiple women at the network.
{mosads}USA Today, CNN and the New York Post reported late Monday that the departure of Chen is effective immediately.
Chen, 48, has been a co-host on “The Talk” since 2009 alongside Sara Gilbert and Sharon Osbourne. She has not appeared on the show since its season premiere on Sept. 10.
She did appear on another program she hosts on the network, “Big Brother,” on Thursday, when she signed off for the first time as Julie Chen Moonves in a show of solidarity with her husband of 14 years.
Sources told CNN that she is expected to continue to host “Big Brother,” a taped reality show, moving forward. Chen has hosted the program since 2000.
