Debt ceiling vote recap: Senate sends bill to Biden’s desk
The Senate on Thursday night passed a bill to raise the debt ceiling.
The measure was approved in a bipartisan 63-36 vote after passing the House by a wide and bipartisan margin Wednesday night.
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has said the U.S. could run out of money to pay its bills on June 5 if Congress doesn’t act, which left the Senate scrambling to put a bill on President Biden’s desk.
