Former Attorney General Eric Holder told a group of Cincinnati Democrats that he’s interested in running for president, CNN reported Sunday.

The network reported that City Councilman Wendell Young asked Holder on Friday if he has “any interest in being president.”

“Am I interested [in] it? Yeah, I’m interested,” Holder, 67, responded.

Holder reportedly said he won’t decide until next year on a potential 2020 campaign, noting he needs to consult with his family.

He previously told CNN that he believes the right candidate should be able to inspire people, have the vision for the job, the physical and mental capacity for the job and have the right experience.

“I think that I am OK when it comes to those five criteria where I set up,” Holder told CNN last week.

“But there is a personal component to it as well,” he added. “People say it, but it really is true. It is a familial thing: I have kids; I have got a wife who is going to help be a part of this decision. That is for next year.”

Holder has previously said he’s open to a potential 2020 White House run.

He further raised speculation that he’d enter the race when he visited New Hampshire last month for the annual Politics and Eggs breakfast. Numerous presidential contenders have attended the breakfast in the past ahead of announcing their candidacy.

Holder, who served as attorney general from 2009-2015, currently runs the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, an organization he created that encourages pro-Democratic redrawings of congressional districts.
