Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) on Tuesday said President Trump has compromising business ties with Russia, to the point that the country “owns him and his family.”
“I think he is definitely compromised,” Cohen said on Hill.TV’s “Rising” after being asked by co-host Krystal Ball if he thinks Trump is an enemy of the state. “I think he has certain financial interests, probably through Deutsche Bank, and the Russians own him and his family.”
“I also think they have compromising material on him when he was in Moscow during the Miss Universe contest,” Cohen added.
He went on to say that even if there isn’t evidence yet, Trump’s questionable business actions already make it clear.
“If it walks like a duck, if it quacks like a duck, it’s a duck. And you don’t have to be a genius to see it,” Cohen told Hill.TV. “He is Donald Duck.”
On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin denied that he has compromising information on Trump, calling the suggestion “nonsense.”
Special counsel Robert Mueller and his team subpoenaed the Trump Organization earlier this year for any business-related documents related to Russia, according to The New York Times.
