Spicer describes Trump as ‘a unicorn, riding a unicorn over a rainbow’ in new book

Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer says in a new book that President Trump is a unique candidate that the country likely won’t see the likes of again in politics, likening him to “a unicorn, riding a unicorn over a rainbow.”

In his upcoming memoir about his time in the Trump administration titled “The Briefing: Politics, the Press and the President,” the former Trump aide praised the president’s ability to pivot from damaging issues to different conversations, according to The Guardian.

“I don’t think we will ever again see a candidate like Donald Trump,” Spicer writes in the book. “His high-wire act is one that few could ever follow. He is a unicorn, riding a unicorn over a rainbow. His verbal bluntness involves risks that few candidates would dare take. His ability to pivot from a seemingly career-ending moment to a furious assault on his opponents is a talent few politicians can muster.”

The book, which is due to be released July 24, is billed on Amazon as a “behind the scenes [look at] his turbulent tenure as President Trump’s press secretary, shedding new light on the headline-grabbing controversies of the Trump administration’s first year.”

Trump himself urged his followers to buy the book last month in a tweet.

“A friend of mine and a man who has truly seen politics and life as few others ever will, Sean Spicer, has written a great new book, ‘The Briefing: Politics, the Press and the President.’ It is a story told with both heart and knowledge. Really good, go get it!” Trump wrote.

The former press secretary is also reportedly shopping a talk show, dubbed “Sean Spicer’s Common Ground,” to television networks ahead of the filming of the show’s pilot episode later this year. The show has yet to be picked up for distribution.

“In this current environment, I think it’s important to have a platform where we can have civil, respectful, and informative discussions on the issues of the day,” Spicer told The New York Times last month.
