Former President George H.W. Bush announced on Monday that the Bush family is welcoming a new family member — a service dog named Sully.

Sully is a Labrador trained by Americas’s VetDogs, a nonprofit that provides service dogs to veterans, active-duty service members and first responders with disabilities at no cost, according to the website.

“Could not be more grateful, especially for their commitment to our veterans,” Bush wrote in a Twitter post.

CNN reported that the pup is named after former airline pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger III, who famously landed a plane on the Hudson River in 2009.

Sully can answer the phone and fetch items for the former commander-in-chief, in addition to dozens of other commands.

“As one person said, he can do just about anything except make you a martini, but not to worry, he can go get you someone to make you a martini!” Bush spokesman Jim McGrath told CNN.

Sully Bush also has an active Instagram account to help highlight how helpful service dogs are to those with disabilities, McGrath said.

“A kinder, gentler labrador— making my forever home at Walker’s Point,” the Instagram’s bio reads,  referencing the Bush home in Kennebunkport, Maine.

Bush is in a wheelchair and was released from the hospital last month after being treated for an infection.
