Giuliani: Melania Trump ‘believes her husband’ over Stormy Daniels

Rudy Giuliani on Wednesday said first lady Melania Trump believes President Trump’s denials that he had an affair with adult-film star Stormy Daniels and suggested Daniels lacks credibility because of her profession.

“She believes her husband and she doesn’t think it’s true,” Giuliani, who joined Trump’s legal team in April, said of the first lady during an appearance at the “Globes” Capital Market Conference in Israel.

The former New York City mayor also praised the president’s relationship with the women in his family, calling Trump “a real gentleman.”

More than a dozen women came forward during the 2016 presidential campaign to levy allegations of sexual misconduct against Trump.

Daniels went public earlier this year with claims that she and Trump had an affair in 2006, around a year after the now-president and first lady were married. She is suing Trump and his attorney Michael Cohen to void a $130,000 nondisclosure agreement related to the affair she signed weeks before the presidential election.

Daniels is also suing Trump and Cohen for defamation over their denials of her story.

Melania Trump has not publicly commented on any of the allegations against her husband.

Giuliani reportedly said Wednesday that he doesn’t believe Daniels’s story before the moderator interjected that “on this stage, we respect women.”

“I respect women — beautiful women and women with value — but a woman who sells her body for sexual exploitation I don’t respect,” Giuliani said. “Tell me what damage she suffered. Someone who sells his or her body for money has no good name.”

Giuliani complicated the ongoing saga between Daniels and President Trump last month when he revealed that Trump reimbursed Cohen for the $130,000 payment to Daniels.

Trump had previously denied knowing about the payment. Giuliani later backtracked, saying Trump had paid Cohen but had not known for what the funds were used.

Giuliani and Daniels’s lawyer, Michael Avenatti, have frequently exchanged barbs in their respective television appearances.

Avenatti called Giuliani’s comments on Wednesday “disgusting and a disgrace.”
