Trump’s ex-wife Ivana says he doesn’t need to run again

Ivana Trump, President Trump’s ex-wife, says he doesn’t need to run for reelection in 2020.

“I’ll tell you something, I don’t think it’s necessary,” Trump’s first wife said in a wide-ranging interview with Page Six.

“He has a good life and he has everything. Donald is going to be 74, 73 for the next [election] and maybe he should just go and play golf and enjoy his fortune.”

Ivana Trump added that her ex-husband likely misses the “freedom” of private life and chafes at having to know so much “information” about the world in his current position.

“I think he probably [misses] a little bit of freedom, I don’t think he probably knew how much is involved of being the president. It’s so [much] information — you have to know the whole world,” she tells Page Six.

President Trump announced his 2020 campaign earlier this year, naming his former data operations manager Brad Parscale as campaign manager.

Ivana Trump, who divorced the president in 1992 after his affair with Marla Maples, said she still speaks with him “every month.” Melania Trump, she claims, is not happy and has been embarrassed by the recent headlines surrounding adult-film actress Stormy Daniels’s allegations of a 2006 affair with the president.

“I feel bad for [Melania] because I know how bad I did feel. It hurts a lot,” she said.

“I divorced Donald immediately [after I discovered the Maples affair] because I told myself, ‘Am I going to live with the person [who] is going to say, ‘I’m going to go and play golf’ [leaving me to] think, ‘Is he really going to go and play golf?’ I cannot do it.”

Ivana Trump also claimed in the interview that she was the one who informed the president that his daughter-in-law, Vanessa Trump, had filed for divorce from Donald Trump, Jr.

“Of course, he was not happy,” said Ivana Trump, who added she was “very sad” about the split.

“Donald Jr. is a good-looking guy. He is successful. He is not going to have a problem to find a girl,” she added in the interview. “Maybe Vanessa might have a little problem because she has five kids … who is going to date and marry the woman who has five children? Especially since she is young, and she might want to have more.”
