Trump: I never said when attack on Syria would take place
President Trump stressed in a tweet early Thursday that he never said when a military strike on Syria in response to an alleged chemical weapons attack would happen, adding it could be “soon or not so soon at all!”
“Never said when an attack on Syria would take place. Could be very soon or not so soon at all!” he tweeted.
“In any event, the United States, under my Administration, has done a great job of ridding the region of ISIS. Where is our ‘Thank you America?’”

Trump said on Monday that he would decide how to respond in a day or two.
“We’re talking about humanity and it can’t be allowed to happen,” Trump said at a Cabinet meeting.
{mosads}“We’ll be making that decision very quickly, probably by the end of today. We cannot allow atrocities like that,” he added.
The president on Wednesday also warned Russia that missiles were going to be sent to Russia.
“Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria. Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and ‘smart!'” he tweeted. “You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!”
Moscow’s ambassador to Lebanon had said earlier that Russian air defenses would shoot down any incoming missiles. He added that Russian forces would retaliate against the source of any attacks.
Trump has laid blame for a chemical weapons attack that killed numerous civilians squarely at the feet of Syrian President Bashar Assad and Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has backed Assad’s government in the years-long civil war in Syria.
