NRCC Launches Ad Tying Kagen to Rangel

Rep. Steve Kagen (D) finds himself the first victim of a new offensive by the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) in Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District, with new TV ads highlighting the connections between Ways and Means Committee Chairman Rangel (D-N.Y.) and incumbent Democratic candidates.

“Steve Kagen’s found a friend in corrupt New York City Congressman Charlie Rangel,” the ad says, stating that Kagen allegedly received $16,000 in campaign donations from Rangel in hopes that it will bolster support for former state Assembly Speaker John Gard (R) in this rematch of the 2006 contest.

The NRCC has been focusing its attention on Rangel
