Coulter, Drudge blast Trump for signing spending bill
Conservative media figures Ann Coulter and Matt Drudge blasted President Trump on Friday for signing a $1.3 trillion omnibus spending package after threatening to veto the bill over concerns on immigration and border security.
Coulter, the author of “In Trump We Trust,” mocked Trump for his remark aimed at Congress during the bill signing Friday afternoon that he would “never sign another bill like this again,” citing the bill’s relatively meager provisions for his long-promised border wall.

“Yeah, because you’ll be impeached,” tweeted Coulter, an ardent supporter of Trump’s campaign who has sharply criticized the president in recent months for not following through on promises to close off the U.S.-Mexico border and reduce illegal immigration.
Coulter also acknowledged that the bill provided the federal government with its largest spending increase in years and, in a move viewed as a win for Democrats, boosted domestic spending for social programs and infrastructure.
“CONGRATULATIONS, PRESIDENT SCHUMER!” remarked Coulter, referring to the Senate Democratic leader.

Drudge, who runs the news aggregation website The Drudge Report, also labeled Trump’s veto threat as a “fake veto” on his website. Trump had threatened to veto the measure early Friday, but eventually backed down and signed the spending measure.

At the bill signing, Trump complained that “nobody read” the 2,232-page piece of legislation, which Congress passed this week to avert a government shutdown slated to begin Saturday.
“It’s only hours old. Some people don’t even know what’s in it,” Trump said.
