Austin bombing suspect identified as Mark Anthony Conditt
Multiple news outlets on Wednesday identified the suspect in a series of bombings in Austin, Texas, as Mark Anthony Conditt.
Authorities earlier in the day said only that the suspect, a 24-year-old man, was killed when a bomb detonated inside his car during a standoff near Round Rock, Texas.
The suspect detonated a device after police surrounded his vehicle, officials said.
Several officers were injured in the blast.
The Austin American Stateman reported on Wednesday that Conditt identified himself as a conservative.
Conditt argued against homosexuality on a blog for a government course he took at Austin Community College, saying it was “not natural,” according to the newspaper.

He also reportedly wrote against abortion.
At least four explosions killed two people and left several others injured around the Texas capital in recent weeks.
Authorities are still warning members of the community to stay on high alert and be aware of suspicious packages.
“We don’t know where the suspect has spent his last 24 hours, and therefore we still need to remain vigilant to ensure no other packages or devices have been left in the community,” Austin Police Chief Brian Manley told reporters.
President Trump praised law enforcement after the suspect’s death in a tweet on Wednesday.
AUSTIN BOMBING SUSPECT IS DEAD. Great job by law enforcement and all concerned!
