Trump hits possible Warren presidency: ‘Pocahontas’ is losing an audience

President Trump resumed his criticism of Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) on Saturday, calling her “Pocahontas” and saying she wouldn’t capture the nation’s attention as president. 

“If I don’t win the election, [news] ratings are going to go so far down, they’ll be out of business, every one of them. Can you imagine? Can you imagine covering Bernie or Pocahontas? How about that?” Trump said, referring to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Warren while speaking at a campaign rally for Republican House candidate Rick Saccone in Pennsylvania on Saturday.

“You know, I was watching, during the campaign, and Hillary [Clinton] was sitting right there, and Pocahontas was up, she was so angry, you know, I think she’s losing the audience,” Trump said, referring to Warren’s support in 2016 of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. {mosads}

Warren has been a rumored potential 2020 candidate, though on Saturday she denied that she plans to run.

Trump has repeatedly used the derisive nickname to refer to Warren, poking fun at her claim of Native American heritage.

Last November Trump used the name at an event honoring Navajo Code Talkers who served in World War II.

“You were here long before any of us were here,” Trump said. “Although we have a representative in Congress who they say was here a long time ago. They call her Pocahontas.”
