Hicks told House Intel Committee she was hacked: report

Former White House communications director Hope Hicks told House Intelligence Committee members last week that one of her email accounts had been hacked, according to NBC News.

Sources told the network that Hicks told Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.) during the interview that she was can no longer access an email account used for President Trump’s campaign and a personal account.

Hicks said she knows one of the accounts had been compromised, but it is unclear which one.

{mosads}It is considered abnormal for a witness to reveal to a panel that they are unable to access past accounts, according to NBC.

Hicks resigned from her post as communications director last week after having worked for Trump since the start of his presidential campaign in 2015.

She appeared before the Intelligence Committee the day before she announced her resignation. During the interview, she refused to answer various questions from the committee about her time in the administration and the presidential transition period.

The former communications director also told the committee that she was occasionally required to tell “white lies” as part of her work for Trump.

Hicks is one of several people tied to Trump who are under scrutiny in special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Mueller sent ex-Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg a subpoena last week requesting him to hand over communications involving Hicks and other Trump associates.
