Baldwin rips NRA spokeswoman: Second Amendment isn’t a ‘moral credit card’

Greg Nash
Actor Alec Baldwin took a swipe at National Rifle Association (NRA) spokeswoman Dana Loesch, telling her the Second Amendment is not “a moral credit card.”

“I see that @DLoesch wants to ‘take back the truth,’” Baldwin tweeted Monday. “And she doesn’t care how many dead bodies she has to step over in that pursuit. The Second Amendment is not a moral credit card that buys you all the guns you want. That law needs to be rethought.”

Baldwin’s tweet came after NRA TV released a trailer for Loesch’s new show on Sunday night, before the Academy Awards.

{mosads}Loesch in the clip tells the media and Hollywood, “Your time is running out.”

“We’ve had enough of the lies, the sanctimony, the arrogance, the hatred, the pettiness, the fake news. … We are done with your agenda to undermine voters’ will and individual liberty in America,” Loesch says.

Baldwin has been a vocal supporter of gun control and a frequent critic of President Trump, famously portraying him on “Saturday Night Live.”

NRA TV’s Twitter account went after Hollywood during the Oscars on Sunday night, sharing a number of clips of supporters criticizing celebrities who call for gun control.

Common slammed the NRA during his Oscar performance of the nominated song “Stand Up for Something” and praised the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School for fighting against them following the deadly shooting at their high school last month.

The NRA responded by stressing its commitment to helping veterans.
