Kimmel: Trump calling for bipartisanship ‘as believable as Mike Pence calling for bisexuality’

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday mocked President Trump’s call for bipartisanship during his State of the Union address.

“He offered what he called an open hand to members of both parties to work together in a bipartisan way,” Kimmel said.

“Donald Trump calling for bipartisanship is about as believable as Mike Pence calling for bisexuality,” he added, referring to the conservative vice president.

{mosads}Kimmel said that, unfortunately for the president, the “ratings were down from when he addressed Congress last year.”

“I knew he should have fired somebody during the speech — ‘Mitch you’re great, you worked hard, but you’re fired,'” Kimmel joked.

Trump delivered his State of the Union address Tuesday night, calling for bipartisan action on immigration and infrastructure and asking a deeply divided nation to come together after a tumultuous first year in office.

“To every citizen watching at home tonight, no matter where you have been or where you come from, this is your time,” Trump said during the speech.

“If you work hard, if you believe in yourself, if you believe in America, then you can dream anything, you can be anything, and together, we can achieve absolutely anything.”
