Former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon’s favorability among Republicans has dropped.

A new Politico/Morning Consult poll finds just 19 percent of Republican voters said they had a favorable view of Bannon.

That represents a significant drop from about a month earlier, in which 32 percent of Republican voters reported having a favorable view of Bannon.

According to the recent poll, 46 percent of Republicans said they had an unfavorable view of Bannon.

The poll was conducted amid a fallout and public feud between Bannon and President Trump following the release of excerpts from a controversial new book on the Trump White House.

In the book, Michael Wolff’s “Fire and Fury,” Bannon is quoted making disparaging remarks about Trump’s family. He is widely believed to be the primary source for the book, which has become a massive political headache for the White House.

After excerpts from the book were released last week, Trump lashed out at Bannon, accusing him of losing his mind. He has also referred to his former aide as “Sloppy Steve.”

Bannon at one point tried to walk back some of his comments in the book, but the White House would not accept the former aide’s apology.

Earlier this week, Bannon stepped down as chairman of Breitbart News.

The Politico/Morning Consult survey was conducted from Jan. 4-5 among 1,988 registered voters. The margin of error is plus or minus 2 percentage points.
