YouTube cancels projects with Logan Paul after Japan suicide video

YouTube is putting on hold a planned movie that was set to star Logan Paul in the latest rebuke to the YouTube personality after he posted a video showing a dead body.

YouTube announced on Wednesday that it would not move forward with a movie for its paid subscriber service YouTube Red, titled “The Thinning: New World Order.” Paul was supposed to star in the movie.

“In light of recent events, we have decided to remove Logan Paul’s channels from Google Preferred,” a YouTube representative said. “Additionally, we will not feature Logan in season 4 of ‘Foursome’ and his new Originals are on hold.”

The decision to halt plans for the movie came a day after YouTube said on Twitter that it was looking at “further consequences” for Paul, who came under fire when he posted a video on his channel last month showing a dead body hanging from a tree in Japan.

Paul apologized for posting the video, saying that he intended for it to raise awareness for suicide prevention.
