Trump Org turns over documents to Russia investigations: report
The Trump Organization has turned over documents related to President Trump’s real estate business to investigators probing Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, according to a new report.
Three sources tell CNN that the organization turned over information on meetings, conversations and events related to Trump’s business between June 2015 and Trump’s inauguration in January 2017.
The information includes emails and calendar information related to Trump’s presidential campaign, as well as details on the activities of Trump Organization executives. The company turned over the information to congressional investigators as well as special counsel Robert Mueller.
In a July interview, Trump warned Mueller against investigating his family’s finances, saying that would be a “violation.”
{mosads}CNN reported that the company’s trove of documents also includes information on the June 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr., Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner with a Russian lawyer who promised damaging information on then-Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
The company also reportedly gave investigators information on a paid speech Trump Jr. gave to a pro-Russia group and Trump’s April 2016 foreign policy speech at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C., according to CNN.
It also reportedly turned over communications regarding WikiLeaks and documents related to Russian-American businessman Sergei Millian. CNN reports that it is unclear if Millian had a relationship with the Trump Organization.
The documents reportedly do not include details of Trump’s business dealings before 2015.
Four former Trump associates and aides have been indicted in Mueller’s probe, including Manafort and former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
