Obama urges followers to ‘keep changing the world’ in 2018

Former President Obama posted a series of tweets Friday sharing positive news stories from 2017 he said “remind us what’s best about America” and encouraging followers to “keep changing the world in 2018.”

“As we count down to the new year, we get to reflect and prepare for what’s ahead,” Obama wrote. “For all the bad news that seemed to dominate our collective consciousness, there are countless stories from this year that remind us what’s best about America.”

The former president shared several news stories from 2017, including a couple postponing their wedding to volunteer in recovery efforts following Hurricane Harvey, NFL player Chris Long donating his entire 2017 salary to various charitable causes and a 10-year-old in Chicago launching a massive campaign to help the homeless.

Obama ended the series of tweets by encouraging followers to “keep changing the world in 2018.”

Obama spent the Christmas holiday in Hawaii, where he surprised Christmas carolers who were singing outside the estate where he and his family were staying.
