The Texas church where a gunman last weekend killed 26 people will not reopen, the church’s pastor has said.

“There’s too many that do not want to go back in there,” Pastor Frank Pomeroy said Wednesday, according to The Wall Street Journal. “We will probably turn it into a memorial for a while. We’re playing it day by day right now.”

{mosads}Pomeroy said there is a service scheduled Sunday for the congregation at a community center in the area.

Pomeroy’s 14-year-old daughter was among those killed in the shooting.

He said it’s too soon to tell right now whether the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs will be torn down and rebuilt.

“I want to get through all the funerals before I do anything,” he said.

President Trump said this week that the shooting wasn’t a “guns situation,” but was instead a problem with the shooter’s mental health.

In the wake of the shooting, some Democrats renewed their calls for gun reform and urged Congress to act to prevent future shootings.
