Obama Gets High Marks In Red and Blue States

President Obama’s job approval ratings are sky high in both red states and blue states, according to a slew of new SurveyUSA polls.

His highest rating is 78 percent in the Democratic states of New York and Massachusetts. California, another coastal blue state, gives him an approval rating of 77 percent.

More surprisingly, Obama’s rating is soaring even in states he lost to Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in last year’s presidential election. He gets 60 percent of the support in Alabama and 62 percent of the backing in Kansas and Kentucky. He also has a 62 percent approval rating in Virginia, which he won in November.
