DeLauro Being Considered for HHS
Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) is being considered for the vacant Health and Human Services secretary post, according to two Democratic sources who spoke to Marc Ambinder.
DeLauro, a 10-term House member, was a prominent supporter of President Obama during the Democratic primaries. She hosted meetings of his supporters in Congress at her home in Washington. She is also the landlord for Obama’s chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel. DeLauro once served as chief of staff for Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.), another Obama ally in the presidential race.
