A former Justice Department official has joined special counsel Robert Mueller’s team as it investigates Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Greg Andres becomes the 16th lawyer to join the team, special counsel spokesman Joshua Stueve told Reuters, which first reported the addition on Tuesday.

Andres most recently served at New York law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell specializing in white-collar criminal defense.

He previously served for more than a decade in public service, including as deputy assistant attorney general in the Justice Department’s criminal division.

Mueller’s team is probing ties between the Trump campaign and Russia, including possible collusion amid Moscow’s attempt to swing the election in Trump’s favor.
