White House: President and Trump Jr. have spoken since meeting revelation
President Trump has spoken with his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., since the stunning revelation of his son’s election-year meeting with a Russian lawyer, the White House said Wednesday.
“I know that they’ve spoken at least some point over the last few days,” spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said at an off-camera briefing.
Sanders said she wasn’t aware of specific conversations or what they discussed.
Trump has remained relatively muted about his son’s meeting, which was arranged to obtain damaging information on Hillary Clinton, as detailed in a series of emails Trump Jr. released on Tuesday.

The New York Times reported that a small group of White House aides helped craft an initial statement for Trump Jr., and that the president signed off on it. But Sanders said she was not aware of that huddle.
The president has voiced support for his son in a brief statement and a pair of tweets since details on the meeting went public, but has not elaborated on what he knows about it or whether he thought it was appropriate.
The disclosure has rocked the White House, which is struggling to deal with the widening investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. The administration has repeatedly insisted that there was no collusion between the campaign and Moscow.
