Trump tweets support for fighting ‘fake news’ with Polish leader

President Trump tweeted Saturday that he wanted to team up to fight “fake news” with Polish President Andrzej Duda.

“We will fight the #FakeNews with you!” Trump tweeted.

The president had retweeted Duda, who blasted what he said were reports that his wife snubbed Trump during a handshake earlier this week ahead of the Group of 20 summit in Germany.

“Contrary to some surprising reports my wife did shake hands with Mrs. and Mr. Trump @POTUS after a great visit. Let’s FIGHT FAKE NEWS,” Duda tweeted.

The tweets come after Trump met with Duda in Warsaw ahead of the G-20 summit.

Trump, who has ramped up his rhetoric against the media in recent days, took the opportunity to slam CNN during a joint press conference with Duda on Thursday.

“They’ve been covering me in a very dishonest way. … What CNN, and others, NBC is equally is bad, despite the fact that I made them a fortune with ‘The Apprentice,’ but they forgot that,” the president said.
